Useful tips for a risk-free tan

WITH JUST A FEW PRECAUTIONS, YOU CAN GET A PERFECT TAN WITHOUT BURNING.

abbronzarsi-natures

  • Expose yourself to sunlight gradually using the most suitable protection for your skin type
  • Avoid sun exposure between 12 am and 4 pm
  • Beware of long swims in the water because the glare and reflection of UV rays can cause sunburn and rashes
  • Protect yourself from the sun even when you practice sports or walk around the town and outdoors
  • Apply a sunscreen every 2 hours or every hour in case of intense sunlight
  • At high altitudes, use high-SPF sunscreens because sun rays are more intense and extreme conditions can cause dehydration and sunburn.
  • Watch out for your kids! Sun exposure is not recommended before the age of 3. For children who are 3 years and older, always use a high-SPF sunscreen, making them wear a hat and T-shirt
  • At the end of the day, after showering, apply a specific after-sun lotion to face and body to moisturise the skin, reduce redness and make your tan last longer.

The right exposure according to your skin type

SKIN TYPE 1
Hard-to-tan fair skin. This is the skin type of people with red or blonde hair, very light complexion, freckles, light-coloured eyes.
Is this you?
Then remember that your skin has very few natural defences against the sun. You need to wear a sunscreen with a high sun protection factor and avoid direct exposure to sunlight during the hottest hours of the day. Protect yourself with t-shirts, hats and glasses.

SKIN TYPE 2
Blonde hair, fair complexion, light-coloured eyes.
Is this you?
Introduce your skin to sunlight gradually, avoiding the sun in the middle of the day and using a high sun protection factor.

SKIN TYPE 3
Brown hair, medium complexion, light or dark-coloured eyes.
Is this you?
During the first few days of exposure, you should protect your skin with medium to high SPF sunscreens, especially in high-altitude locations or tropical regions.

SKIN TYPE 4
Dark brown to black hair, dark complexion, dark-coloured eyes.
Is this you?
Even if you hardly ever get burnt, you should however use a medium to low SPF sunscreen, to avoid premature skin aging.

PROTECTING YOUR FACE AND SENSITIVE AREAS

Face, lips, neck and shoulders are particularly prone to photoageing, therefore it is even more important to prevent the appearance of wrinkles and keep your skin supple.
Our Face/Lip Anti-ageing SPF 50 Sunscreen with Apricot Milk and hyaluronic acid is perfect for these sensitive areas and to prevent the appearance of age spots, while the Sun Stick SPF 50+ is recommended for extra sensitive areas (nose, eye contour, ears, décolletage, etc).

CHILDREN

The beach should be off-limits for children under one year of age. After 12 months of age, their skin should always be protected with special care to avoid immediate damage, such as sunburn, and long-term consequences , such as skin cancers. Children should be taken to the beach before eleven o’clock in the morning and after five in the afternoon, taking care to apply some Kids Sun Spray SPF 50 + at regular intervals to ensure full protection.
